    Well, here he was, at last. His paws were sore, his thick green fur was ruffled, and his shoulders ached from carrying around the large egg, which he kept in a bag that was secured tightly to his body. He still wasn't sure what creature could be growing under the egg's hard white shell, but he knew that he couldn't abandon it no matter what. He lifted his head to look around, the shadows that his black and white baseball cap cast over his face dispersing as the sunlight pushed them away. The fox's silver eyes were dim with dreariness. "H-hello?" He called out into the distance. He calculated his voice would reach anyone within a 20 foot radius, roughly. He needed rest before he could find more exact answers. "Is this StormClan? I'm looking to join."

    "Thank you," he hummed, offering a pleased smile. "I'm N. Nice to meet you." The fox had been travelling for quite a while to find the clan, and was pleased he'd finally arrived. After all, his paws could only carry him so far, despite the fact that he was used to walking long distances. He swished his furry pale green tail as he briefly studied the canine who stood before him. "Which way is it to your camp? I don't know how much longer I can stay on my paws." He laughed awkwardly, eager to just lay down and rest. He needed it.

    He quickly recounted the names and then stored them for later like the answer to an important question. "Alright. Good to meet you, and thanks for the welcome," he said with a quick dip of his head. Then the oddly coloured canine passed them and made his way in the direction the albino feline had directed him after slightly adjusting the bag that hung at his side. It had been a while since he'd been in a highly populated place, so the somewhat anti-social fox would definitely need some time to adjust. It wouldn't be too difficult though. He used to live in a city that bustled with life, so it was simply a reversion to a prior lifestyle. Indeed, he could manage.

    Well, he'd arrived, settled in, gotten much needed rest and was feeling more like his usual self. Travelling had worn him out! The fox, who had finished grooming his coat of thick, pale green fur, was now gazing around, grey eyes glittering as sunlight pierced the shadows his black and white cap cast over his face. He had taken off the bag he usually carried around and instead had it sitting at his paws, the black egg's obsidian-like surface shimmering in the sun's gentle, warm rays. N wondered when it would hatch, and what would be borne from it. He'd simply found it one day and felt a tugging in his pelt when he laid eyes on it, like he had to take it and could never leave it. He wasn't sure how, but he was connected to it. He'd guard it and the hatchling that would soon emerge with his life. Perhaps it would repay him when it was old enough.

    //Hey, it's Kotek :3

    N had been drawn to the border whilst exploring the territory. He had only arrived in StormClan the day prior, so he didn't know the area all that well yet. He hadn't been expecting to meet someone, though. Especially someone who wasn't from the clan. Adjusting the pouch that held the obsidian-like egg, which he kept close to him at all times, he decided to investigate. He found it difficult to relate with the StormClanners, and had trouble interacting with them, but if the feline he scented had come to join then he'd have something in common with them -- they're both newcomers. Indeed, he weighed the chances of making a good acquaintance in the encounter and liked the outcome. The green fox then cleared his mind as the unfamiliar cat came into view. "Hello," he called over to her, his voice low and gentle. "Are you here to join, by chance?"

    //Yep, I have six or seven sub accounts I RP with. XD I don't do much RPing on my main.

    He chuckled lightly at the nervous respect the female was displaying. "Oh, you needn't be so formal," he insisted as a warm smile graced his pale green features. N noticed the slight raising of her hackles and the flicking of her tail, tell-tale signs of hostility or anxiety. He felt a bit bad that he was intimidating her, but he supposed it couldn't be helped. There were lots of non-feline creatures in the bigger clans, but perhaps the place this she-cat came from wasn't used to seeing those they typically thought of as enemies as friends instead. He could see how a fox would be frightening to someone like that. "Sorry if I frighten you. I'm N. Welcome to StormClan," he greeted her, a cheerful tone in his voice. He dipped his head in return, the black and white baseball cap he sported hiding his face as he did so. It once again revealed his grey eyes when he lifted his head again. "And you are?"

    He was pleased to see her relax. After all, he wanted to make a good impression. "WhitePetal..." He echoed thoughtfully. That sounded like a typical clan name, much unlike his own name. N was a bizarre name, wasn't it? It would probably be more natural sounding to go by his full name, but he vastly preferred simply being called 'N'. "That's a nice name," he concluded. "It's nice to meet you." Then he gestured behind him with his muzzle. "The camp is in this direction. Would you like me to lead you, or would you rather go alone?" he queried, head tilted. He could tell the female had accepted him as an ally rather than a threat, but it still wouldn't surprise him if she preferred to find her way around alone. He knew that's what he'd want, after all, but that was simply because he had the personality of a loner.

    N watched her closely, seeming curious. He adjusted the bag that was hanging over his shoulders, careful not to move the large ink-coloured egg that it held too much, and turned so he was facing in the direction of the camp. "It's that way," he answered, "and isn't too horribly far. When I got here I wasn't in the best shape myself but the walk was manageable." He glanced upward as he thought back to the time he found himself at the border, paws aching from weeks of ceaseless travel. "If you don't want me to lead you, though, I'll be taking my leave. Been a pleasure, I do hope we meet again sometime." He smiled, the edges of his maw upturning happily. Then he heard Blazeheart approach. He'd never met her before, so he gave a polite dip of his head in greeting. Perhaps Whitepetal would be more comfortable around another feline. In fact, she most likely would, he estimated. Probably best to leave things with her.

    He blinked. His bag? Ah, of course she'd be curious. He lowered himself so the bag was on the ground and wriggled out of the strap that it hung from. The sides of the sack fell, revealing the large egg with the inky black shell. "This," he answered, gazing at it with immense wonder in his deep grey eyes, that were like two endless pools of shadow that reflected his constant stream of thoughts. "I don't know what's inside to be honest, but... I'm entranced by it." He'd never spoken to anyone about the egg he was protecting so cautiously before, and so it was a bit odd, but also strangely relieving. He had so many thoughts bubbling in his overly active mind that he'd like to get off of his shoulders. He loved to talk, despite being on the introverted side.

    //wanna do a private thread with them after this?

    //I'll make it later today, then.

    N let out a soft chuckle. "Oh, that could hardly be possible. From my calculations, taking the egg's size into consideration..." He paused, numbers running through his head as he closely examined the egg's structure, scrutinizing the black shell with keen eyes. "The hatchling will likely be just a bit smaller than yourself, actually. No, whatever this is, it will be far larger than a fox." His ears flicked from where they poked out of his hat, content with the answer he'd given. The egg was pretty big. It was round, and when balanced upright as it currently was, it was just below N's shoulder. "If I had to make a rough estimate though, fully grown it could stand anywhere from five feet to ten." N himself only stood exactly 48 centimetres, a bit taller than the average fox, so those numbers were rather intimidating.

    N would find himself once again wandering along the border. He wasn't sure what force it was that continually drew him back here, but he was returning for his second time since he acquired membership to the StormClan roughly three days prior, third if he counted the day he joined. Each and every time though, he noted, he encountered someone. He wasn't sure what the chances of once again meeting a new face were, but he doubted they could be very high. Even still, though, he had a nagging feeling...
    Sure enough, the fox with the pale green fur picked up an unfamiliar scent. He couldn't place it, but whatever it was, it wasn't a clan mate. Being very knowledge-driven, relying heavily on scientific statistics, hard facts, and math, he had to place a name to the smell. Besides, he was curious. Was this someone else aiming to join, he wondered? The wandering equine entered his vision and he felt his paws stop, blinking in surprise. There was something very familiar about the horse who now stood before him. Shaking it off temporarily, he sighed and padded over. "Hello there," he called, voice soft and kind but also oddly quick. "What brings you here?" Some of his words blurred together in his fast speech, but they weren't impossible to tell apart.

    //hello muse, nice to see you o-o

    Oliver? No, he didn't recognize that name. But still... He flicked his ears, unable to shake the feeling of familiarity. "Lost?" He echoed, grey eyes focusing as he returned his attention to the problem at hand. "This is StormClan. I'd like to help, but I don't know which direction WindClan is in." A small frown darkened his features. "Sorry about that. And my name is N, by the way." He gave a little dip of his head, careful not to dislodge the black and white cap that sat comfortably atop his head. His furry, tea green tail waved back and forth behind him. "Nice to meet you, though these aren't exactly nice circumstances for a first meeting, considering your dilemma..." He shrugged his shoulders to readjust the weight balance of the bag that hung at his side. The shift gave him a bit of relief from the weight of the delicate object inside.

    N nodded. "That's good to hear. I still feel bad, though." The fox had a natural knack for travel and a strong sense of direction, so he never really got lost, and thus it bothered him when he couldn't help others who found themselves unsure how to get back to their respective homes. The foal's cheeriness made him feel a bit better about the situation, though. "What are you planning to do, if I may ask? Will you be on your way? I doubt anyone would mind if you took temporary shelter here, if you need to." Truthfully, he wanted Oliver to stick around, at least until he could figure out why he was suffering the frustrating sense of deja vu. But, of course, he wouldn't stop him if he wished to leave. That simply wasn't a right thing to do. So he simply lifted his muzzle slightly, waiting for a response.

    //lol X3

    N's eyes widened slightly at the proposition Oliver laid out. "Find WindClan with you? Well..." He'd have to consider this carefully. He didn't want to turn down the offer, but he'd only just came to the end of a long journey, that being his trek to StormClan from his prior home. Though, multiple opportunities arose from this. He'd get to learn more about the colt, and he'd get to position more of the nearby land in his mental map, tracking distances and travel times... He did want to eventually know his way around the lands by heart, in case the urge to journey began tugging at his pelt. It was tempting indeed...
    "Hm, I suppose I could tag along, if you want," he hummed in hesitant submission. He had already warmed to the idea, though his paws would likely speak otherwise after the first while of travelling. The thought amused him.

    N shook his head. "No, that's alright." Though the fox could be easily overwhelmed in social situations, he was much more tolerant when he was only dealing with one other individual. "Do you like to travel?" He asked, curious, turning his gaze to the sky to get an estimate of the time. It was still early in the day, they could make good progress if they got moving soon, he suspected. "I do. I can't really explain why... I just quite enjoy adventuring." Then he tilted his head. "Oh, and will be be heading out now? Sorry for getting distracted." He shrugged, smiling at his own slip of thought. He often had his head in the clouds, as Oliver would likely realize as they journeyed. He held habits of asking random questions out of the blue and commenting on irrelevant things. It was just the way his mind worked.

    N thought about that. It was difficult to calculate that, as he didn't have the proper factors. He didn't know when the egg had been laid, he was only aware of how long he had carried it with him. Besides, if he didn't know what was forming inside, he couldn't consider development rates of the species... That questions was bothersome. "I have no clue," he admitted, looking up from the egg and back at WhitePetal. "I've had it with me for around a month, so it could hatch tomorrow or it could hatch weeks from now." He slipped the bag's straps back over his shoulders and hoisted it up, careful the egg didn't toss too much as he moved it. "It's a curious thing, isn't it? So mysterious."

    "Mhm, I understand that," N responded with a nod. Then he flicked his ears at Oliver's second statement. He laughed, somewhat awkwardly. "Thank you. I should be fine, but if I grow weary I'll remember the offer." He was capable of lasting a long time on foot, more or less built to travel, but considering he'd just finished a rather long hike he wasn't sure if he'd hold up to his usual standards. He was a pretty tough canine though and had an unshakeable will, so it was hard to say. Time would tell, in the end.

    N was laying down alone in StormClan territory. Lately things had been interesting for him. He'd met a few new people, two of which he was particularly interested in, found a new home, and was enjoying himself. Now, though, he was pleased to just relax. He wanted time to reflect on everything, and formulate ideas for what life would be like from there on out. He was curious to see where life would take him next. He turned his gaze to the egg, which was out of the bag he usually kept it in and sitting still on the ground next to him. It's dark surface radiated heat, and N found it rather comforting. It was something he was particularly looking forward to. So many questions had been buzzing around in his head, and their answers laid within the black shell. Then he tore his eyes away, looking up at the sky. It was the afternoon, he judged by the position of the sun, not late but not early. His thoughts drifted to other topics, oculars reflecting the blue depths of the sky and giving them a bright sheen, which stopped abruptly where the shadow that his baseball cap cast ended, a meeting between the light and the darkness.
